"Our hearts go out to those who lost their lives and their families," UPS officials in Louisville said in a statement.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Two men from Texas are dead following a crash involving a UPS truck.

Just before 6:30 p.m. Monday, Lousiville Metro Police said a large UPS tractor trailer truck exiting I-65 North to the Outer Loop was hit by a large, heavy-duty pickup truck, also with a large trailer on Outer Loop.

Police said the pickup continued underneath the UPS truck and got stuck.

Both people inside the pickup truck died at the scene. The Jefferson County Coroner later identified them as Trenton Teamer, 26, and Jordan Winston, 29, of Houston, Tx.

Outer Loop was shut down for several hours in both directions as police investigated. No other information was immediately available.

UPS officials in Louisville released a statement to WHAS11 News saying, “We’re aware of a serious crash tonight involving a UPS tractor trailer and another vehicle on Outer Loop. Our hearts go out to those who lost their lives and their families. We are cooperating with LMPD in their investigation."

The Traffic Unit is investigating.
