Louisville small businesses see boost from COVID-19 grant program

Louisville Forward said more than 1,200 businesses sent applications since the program began in early July.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Area small businesses are receiving a boost from the COVID-19 relief grant program.

Nearly 824 small businesses have received grant dollars totaling more than $27 million to help with the economic impact of the pandemic.

Louisville Forward said more than 1,200 businesses sent applications since the program began in early July.

Research firm, Opportunity Insights, found that overall revenue among small businesses decline more than 25%.

Nationally, small business revenue has decline nearly 23%.

Businesses requested grants between $845 and $50,000 while the average approved grant amount was about $32,000.
