Rye to close its doors for good

In a post on Facebook, Rye on Market announced it's closing after more than eight years in business.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One of the original restaurants to open on East Market Street shortly after the neighborhood was renamed Nulu, is closing for good. Rye announced its last day is Saturday.

In a post on Facebook, Rye on Market announced it's closing after more than eight years in business. The post thanked the Louisville community for the support over the years, as well as staff and the local farms they work with.

The restaurant will reopen one more time for dinner on Saturday.

A former chef posted on their Facebook page saying it was the best restaurant experience she ever had as a chef, and they always put “deliciousness” above anything else.

Thank you Louisville. Thank you for the eight and a half years of su... pport. Thank you for the raucous back porch nights, and the cozy winter meals. Thank you to our cooks, servers, porters, management, and bartenders; every one of you put your own stamp on this place with your creativity, vibrant personailty, and diligent work ethic.
