Main Street Association to host panel discussion on business reopenings

Business leaders will discuss how to reopen businesses along Main Street in downtown Louisville.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — For weeks, downtown Louisville has been vacant of crowds and customers while some businesses remain boarded up.

Many of them are still closed due to COVID-19, but the boards went up after the violent protests in late March and many of the businesses have not yet taken down the fortress of wood.

On Tuesday, a panel discussion hosted by the Main Street Association will focus on how to reopen Main Street.

Panelists include Councilwoman Barbara Sexton Smith, Louisville Downtown Partnership Director Rebecca Matheny and John Launius with Greater Louisville, Inc.

It begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Frazier History Museum on West Main Street.

Reservations are required.
