LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Wind gusts will range between 20-30 mph out of the southwest today with clouds also increasing. Those appear to be the only issues through the daytime hours at least because our daytime high temperature will reach the lower 70s across the board. Attention temporarily is shifted towards sunset and tonight because rain showers will move in from our northwest as it gets dark. Only a quarter to a half inch of rain at best is in the forecast but conditions will definitely be damp for the drive to work tomorrow morning!
Along with tonight's rain, low temperatures will stick to the upper 40s outside of Jefferson County, with mainly low 50s in Louisville. We will dry out tomorrow and Thursday with high temperatures climbing back well into the 60s and clipping the lower 70s. Another warm day awaits for Friday but this time around some isolated showers and storms will develop late in the afternoon and look to affect some spots in Kentuckiana for the evening. The severe weather threat remains low.
A few storms may stick around into the overnight hours Friday and linger into Saturday morning but the majority of the weekend will be dry! Expect afternoon temperatures through the weekend to hover into the low to middle 80s. Another front will drift in from the west on Monday to kick off Kentucky Derby week. As a result, a few showers and storms will develop then.
