$800K in renovations scheduled for Charlie Vettiner Park

The relocation of four tennis courts, parking and two new pickleball courts are included in the renovations.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Major renovations are underway for Charlie Vettiner Park in Jeffersontown.

The project will include more than $800,000 in construction for 62 new parking spaces and the relocation of four tennis courts which will be lighted. Two new pickleball courts will also be installed.

“I would love to tell you this finishes the work in Charlie Vettiner Park. it does move us a long way to completion, but the old tennis courts will remain. There's a gravel lot up by the old tennis courts that's not in the best of shape. So there are some future things that we're looking at but I don't think there are plans in the works right now,” Councilman Kevin Kramer said.

There is a "master plan" for taking care of all of those projects at Charlie Vettiner Park but the funds are not accounted for at this time.

This phase is expected to be finished in about four months.
