UofL Police arrest 21-year-old for sexual assault, robbery

Alfred Kesseh was arraigned January 15 on three counts of burglary, 1 count of receiving stolen property and 1 count of rape.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — LOUISVILLE, Ky. — On January 14, the University of Louisville Police Department arrested a man in connection to a sexual assault and robberies on the university's campus.

Alfred Kesseh was arraigned January 15 on three counts of burglary, 1 count of receiving stolen property and 1 count of rape.

According to the arrest report, Kesseh was seen on surveillance video entering the rooms of six victims at the Cardinal Towne campus housing and the University Pointe Apartments. Once inside the victims' rooms, he threatened their lives, demanding money, credit cards and other items.

One female victim reported he held a gun to her head and forced her to have sex with him before stealing items from her room.

Another victim told police that Kesseh waived a gun at him and demanded the victim get against the wall.  When that victim confronted Kesseh, he threatened to kill the alleged victim and then ran off, according to the police report.

One victim found his bank card missing from his wallet. When he reported the card stolen, the bank listed two locations where Kesseh allegedly attempted to use the card.  A manager at a Speedway remembered kicking Kesseh out for trying to purchase gift cards with a debit card that did not belong to him.

Victims were able to positively identify Kesseh from a photo pak.

During his arraignment, the judge increased Kesseh's bond from $50,000 to $500,000 full cash, with no bail credit.

“I believe you can be a danger to the community in general and particularly these alleged victims,” the judge said.

Kesseh is to have no contact with any of the six victims and cannot be in possession of a firearm.

Kesseh told the judge he will hire his own attorney. He will appear in court again on January 25.

A representative for the University Louisville said Kesseh has never been a student at UofL.
