LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- It's an annual tradition in Louisville, cutting down the city's Christmas tree and hauling it to Jefferson Square Park.
The tree was donated by Christ Church United Methodist off Brownsboro Road.
The tree was part of a memorial garden at the church. Rev. Thomas Brown, an associate pastor, said they were running out of room for the tree and needed more space.
Brown said they think the tree is around 50-years-old.
The church loves the tree is going to be used for a good purpose.
“We were just so fortunate that it was chosen. It’s a great opportunity for us to share our love for the community and Louisville,” Brown said.
