Fundraiser aids local victims suffering from addiction

The event benefits The Healing Place, a recovery program, offering services to 700 Kentuckiana men and women at no cost to the clients.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – More than 1,000 people spent Saturday at the La Grange Quarry for third annual Float for Recovery fundraiser.

The event benefits The Healing Place, a recovery program, offering services to 700 Kentuckiana men and women at no cost to the clients.

Last year, the fundraiser brought in more than $10,000 and organizers are hoping to raise more while providing a day of fun to those in recovery.

“It’s so amazing to see how many people drive across the state of Kentucky, come from Ohio, or West Virginia and just want to be here and feel a part of and be a part of the recovery community,” program manager Tera Moseley said.
