13-year-old struck, killed in park hit-and-run ID'd

Police say they do not have any witnesses after a 13-year-old was struck and killed inside Chickasaw Park late Monday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Police are searching for a suspect after a child was struck and killed in a hit-and-run incident on the city’s west side.

Police say they responded to the park around 10 p.m. Monday after the 13-year-old female was struck inside the park.

The child was transported to Norton Children’s Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Police said the driver of the vehicle left the scene and do not have any witnesses.

Family identified the 13-year-old as Laraya Hill. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office also identified the victim as Hill on Tuesday, May 22. They are devastated and angry, they want to know what happened and who is responsible.
