Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - People living on Brownsboro Road are suing the Department of Veterans Affairs because they don't want a new hospital built near them.

The hospital is planned for the city of Crossgate in Eastern Jefferson County near the Watterson.

In the lawsuit, Crossgate officials said the V.A. violated federal law in its site-selection process. The lawsuit is asking the court to stop construction on the project.

If plans continue, construction on the new hospital would begin sometime next year and be completed by the year 2024.
