Bardstown, Ky. (WHAS11) - A Bardstown man is facing several charges after officers said he shot and killed his neighbor's dogs.
Joseph William Hutchins, 48, is facing charges torture a dog, menacing, tampering with physical evidence and more.
On February 23, deputies responded to a weapons violation in the 200 block of McIntyre Lane in Bardstown, Ky. A caller had reported a male subject was intoxicated and shooting at dogs and houses.
Reports indicate that units arrived on the scene and found Hutchins by a shed in the back yard. While speaking to Hutchins, deputies said he admitted he had been shooting at dogs and took deputies to their location.
Deputies reported finding four hunting dogs dead in a kennel on a nearby neighbor’s land.
Hutchins was taken into custody and lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
